Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP have announced that E. Lee Smith has been promoted to partner as of July 1st, resident in the New York, N.Y. office. Currently a counsel with the Firm, Mr. Smith focuses on transactional aspects of commercial lending, loan restructuring and bankruptcy matters. He has been in practice for twenty-two years, including more than a decade of in-house counsel experience with prominent international banks.

Mr. Smith is also an active member of the Firm's Distressed Assets Group and recently was a panelist on the topic of "Opportunities in Distressed Assets" at the Thacher Proffitt Legal Update Seminar in New York, NY.
